Evan Mandery

Evan Mandery was born in 1967 in Brooklyn, New York, where he lived until the age of twelve. He spent the remainder of his childhood in East Meadow, Long Island. He is the author of three novels and two works of non-fiction. His last novel, First Contact (Or, It’s Later Thank You Think) was an IndieBound Next pick for June 2010. His current novel, Q, is being published in the United States, United Kingdom, and Italy. He is currently working on a history of the two seminal Supreme Court cases on capital punishment.

Evan is a professor at the City University of New York. He is an avid poker player and golfer. He lives in Forest Hills, New York, with his wife, Valli Rajah-Mandery, a sociologist, and their three children.
